Good to see the investigators don’t think the Ethiopian fire was caused by the batteries. Still worrying though. Thanks to Malcolm G for pointing out some errors; I must pay more attention! Smiley IN BRIEF Changi: Quiet again. Thanks to Ralf Wallner for kindly telling me that one of our recent “unknowns” B-8263 is in … Continue reading
I see that another Dreamliner did a passable imitation of a Spinal Tap drummer (I.E. indulging in a bit of spontaneous combustion) at Heathrow on Friday. Hmmm. Smiley IN BRIEF Changi: Quiet again. Seletar: I haven’t stopped reporting thing from here, it’s just that it’s been a bit quiet. I do have something to report … Continue reading
IN BRIEF Changi: The Asiana A320 that has been on maintenance departed today. The relative biz-drought continues, but we did have a nice Chinese Learjet 60 and a very pretty Indian G550 (so, maybe it’s not that much of a drought). Full details below.
IN BRIEF Changi: 2 more first visits today: 9M-MSF B738 of MAS and B-6905 A320 of Sichuan. Full details below.
IN BRIEF Changi: Another 1st visit. This time in the shape of A6-ENJ Full details below.
IN BRIEF Changi: Newish Cebu Pacific A330 RP-C3341 was a first visit this morning. Full details below.
Tiger Airways has rebranded itself Tigerair. The various subsideries have also been named as follows: Tiger Airways Australia becomes Tigerair Australia. South East Asian Airlines becomes Tigerair Philippines. Mandala Airlines (or Tiger Mandala as some of their aircraft are painted) becomes Tigerair Mandala. Here’s JC’s picture of 9V-TAS landing at Changi. Smiley
IN BRIEF Changi: I managed to tie-up the hex code for the B-8277; more importantly, I saw the aircraft too! B-5919 A330 of Air China was a first visit. A few biz arrived today, but nothing that’s not been here many times before. Full details below.
My glee at events down in one of my favourite places (Sydney) is tempered by the news from another of my favourites (San Francisco). Smiley IN BRIEF Changi: HL8276 A330-200 of Korean Air was a 1st visit. The new Tiger Mandala arrived. Finally, shock! horror! the BA11 was cancelled. Full details below.
IN BRIEF Changi: B-18353 B738 of China Airlines was a first visit. JA710J arrived for maintenance. Full details below.
IN BRIEF Changi: The Chilean A340 doesn’t appear to be here for maintenance. Weststar’s gorgeous 737-200 was an early visitor. The 737 aside, there were no biz movements at today 🙁 Seletar: Stored A321 M-ABFY emerged for an air-test today. Full details below.
A LAN A340, a Turkish biz, and a big lump of Russian heavy-metal all made for a fairly interesting day. Smiley IN BRIEF Changi: RP-C3435 A340-300 of Philippine Airlines was a 1st visit. Another probable 1st visit was CC-CQE (another A340-300 as it happens); not sure if this is here for maintenance. TC-GAP was an unusual … Continue reading
IN BRIEF Changi: The Antonov 74 departed mid-morning. Another Russian (an IL-76) was due but kept delaying and eventually arrived on the 3rd July (RA-76503 was the beast). Still very quiet on the biz front. N789LS did yet another short air-test; that’s the third time it’s done this recently. Most of the visiting biz also departed; … Continue reading
An An-74 was the highlight today.. Smiley IN BRIEF Changi: UR-CKC was a late evening arrival. You can see a picture of it here. Full details below.
