A couple of quick updates… AIR FRANCE: AFR resumed flights to Taiwan when they started a new 3 times a week service from CDG-TPE service on 17-Apr. For now, at least, the service is being operated by Boeing 777-200ERs. F-GSPU operated the first service, arriving at TPE on the morning of 17-APR. AFR552 arrives at … Continue reading
A quick update to record a recent maintenance arrival at TPE. It’s UPS Boeing 767 N364UP which arrived on Sunday morning (15-Apr). It’s an ex-JAPAN AIRLINES machine (JA609J) and is here for freighter conversion. Photo is courtesy of Ethan Tang and Jet Photos. Smiley, Taoyuan, 17-Apr-2018. The final ex-TRANSASIA AIRWAYS A321 left Taoyuan this morning (12-APR). It was N805AV (msn 6009) and is ex-B-22608. FR24 shows that it went Guam. I ‘m told it’s for AVIANCA, but I suspect it will be having some TLC somewhere first. Sister-ship N810AV (msn 6294) went to Tucson last month and the two A330s (N803AV … Continue reading
Here’s a strange one. Not only because it’s a long way from home, but also the route it took to get to TPE. It’s TRAVEL SERVICE Boeing 737-8Q8 OK-TSD and arrived on 8-APR. As you can see it’s been on quite a trek. It’s still here as I type on the evening of 9-APR. Photo … Continue reading
I know there have been some spotters from the UK here in the last couple of weeks, so I thought I’d get my finger out and post the following about various maintenance movements on the off chance that they might visit the blog. Courtesy of 徐鴻鑫 here’s a photo of the main talking point this month. It’s … Continue reading
Unusually for TPE, pride of place goes to a biz this week. Sovereign N95TE was in an out on 28-JUN. And if that’s making you think ‘that’s not special’ it’s because there was little else about. ROYAL FLIGHT Boeing 767-300ER VP-BLC was in and out on 24-Jun but has been here before. There were a … Continue reading
Little to comment on really. The most interesting visitor was VP-BLG a ROYAL FLIGHT Boeing 767-300ER but it’s been in before (and like before, I missed it!). For a while I thought we were going to get all of the AIR CANADA Boeing 777-9s in one after the other but the sequence of first visits … Continue reading
First up is a grateful thank you to those awfully nice schedulers at AIR CANADA who sent us a different Triple-Seven every day this week; much appreciated! Staying with Canada, SKYSERVICE Learjet 45 C-GEJD was a nice visitor at the end of the week. The only other biz of note was Gulfstream G550 N881WR. EMIRATES … Continue reading
Big news this week was the start of an AIR CANADA service from Vancouver. First one was on 9-JUN using Boeing 787-9 C-FRSR (and on a personal note friends and neighbours, that puppy was well received indeed!). [ACA11] has an ETA of 14:15 and [ACA12] departs at 15:55 and I believe it’s a daily flight. … Continue reading
The highlight for me this week was the balloon in Taoyuan City that was the subject of my last post. It was just as well I saw that as over here at TPE it a bit slow. We did have one very nice biz but, unfortunately for me, it was Seletar based Gulfstream G150 VH-PFV. … Continue reading
Quite a bit to talk about this week, so let’s get right into it… SCOOT Boeing 787-8 9V-OFH made a first visit on 20-May and also returned later on the same day. We had the last of the Antonov AN-124 visits on 21-May with UR-82027 arriving (this time from (KRW) not (DAC)) and departing the … Continue reading
CHINA AIRLINES have taken delivery of their 6th A350. B-18907 (msn 105) arrived at Taoyuan this afternoon (25-May). Here’s a photo of her at Toulouse just before departure. And no, Keith, the wheelbarrow isn’t for my salary; it’s not big enough! Smiley, Taoyuan, 25-May-2017.
CHINA AIRLINES Boeing 737s B-18605 (130/28404) and B-18606 (132/28405) are currently WFU at TPE. ‘605 is all white, and ‘606 is also white but has the remnants of the CAL colour-scheme on its nose. There was also another CAL Boeing 737-800 in bare metal here last week, but I think that was one being repainted … Continue reading
The ANTONOV AIRLINES’ An-124s dominated proceedings this week, with UR-28029 returning again and UR-82027 also turning up. All have come from Dhaka and departed to Turkmenbashi. I’m told there will be one more flight next week. After a period of absence, JC INTERNATIONAL returned again with pretty much a daily service (there wasn’t one on … Continue reading
Well, take a look at this puppy… From the sublime to the ridiculous is a phrase that springs to mind this week. Last week’s star visitor to the island was JA007F the dinky little Japanese Cirrus Design SR-22 which was over at TSA. This week (as you’ve just seen) it was a slightly more substantial … Continue reading
